Happy 86th Birthday

Mom Virginia celebrated her 86th birthday last week.

Sam came by the hospital on his break to provide comic relief, and we had cake, birthday cards, flowers from her son Ben and phone calls from the rest of the family. It was a good day.

On the weekend, Sam and I continued working on the shower installation.

Drywall was reinstalled and holes plugged up.

Then we were finally ready for the shower base and walls.

By the end of Sunday, it looked like a shower!

Just in time for Mom's release from rehab. Sam cleaned up Mom's house while I picked her up. She was so happy to be home and was blown away by the pretty new shower.

The next day, she went out on a walk and she's been doing fine.

During the week, Sam has been extremely busy. He drives his regular bus routes, then takes groups of fifth graders to Davis Monthan Air Force base and a special program called Starbase. There the kids do activities related to science, technology, engineering and math. Sam's been having fun, but it makes for a very long day. He's looking forward to Spring Break!

Have a great week, everyone!
